Kass and I just saw Once. We both loved it. Short, sweet and awesome music. Bought the album just now.
This is the 5th good movie we have seen in a row. We're on a total movie streak.
Charlie Wilson's War was entertaining. Typical big Hollywood mega star movie. But the story carried it. It's hard to beleive that Charlie pulled off the war without any oversight. But anyway.
There Will Be Blood will win Daniel Day Lewis Best Actor. He's amazing. The film will be nominated for Best Picture but will lose out to the next movie on our list, No Country for Old Men.
NCFOM is a wonderfully crafted Coen Bros. movie. Loved the story, the feel and the unconventional ending. A true masterpiece.
Before The Devil Knows You're Dead features a mesmerizing performance by Philip Seymour Hoffman. He plays an accountant whose life spirals out of control as he robs his parents' jewlry store. Ethan Hawke is solid. An opening scene featuring Marisa Tomei and both her breasts doesn't hurt either.
I recommend strongly all of the movies above. Going to see Sweeney Todd tomorrow with Renny and Erica.
UPDATE: We saw The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. We're up to 6 good movies in a row. The movie is told from the perspective of Elle France editor Jean-Dominique Bauby, who had a stroke at age 43 and is locked in his body. Using only his left eye, he is able to crank out a memoir that chronicles his life trapped in his own body. The movie is moving and beautifully done. An artful and heartfelt work by Julian Schnabel.
