How NOT to leave a voice mail message

Check out this message I just received from a potential partner. This definitely breaks every rule of voice mail etiquette: keep it short, leave your name and number toward the beginning and state briefly why you are calling.

I have no idea who this person is as he didn't leave a name clearly or number. He didn't even state why he was calling. And to boot, he took 60 seconds to say nothing at all whatsoever. Wow.

Ugly Doll Creator

The boys went nuts when I told them that David Horvath, creator of the Ugly Doll, was at FAO Schwartz in NYC. So we busted out to meet him. Nice guy. The boys were psyched to meet hin. Myles' first question, "what was the first ugly doll you made?"

Wall Street Now Makes Me Sick, Literally

The first time I visited Wall Street I was overwhelmed with the experience - the large columns, the narrow streets, the imposing statues and the smell of power and money in the heart of the world's financial center.

During one of my first visits, my stepfather, a money manager, got us onto the floor. We saw up close the action sport known as trading.

This morning on my way to OnMedia at the Ritz in Battery Park (basically one stop from the Hudson and tip of this island), I got off the 2 train at Wall Street and snapped this picture.

Instead of the overwhelming feeling of awe today, I actually felt sick to my stomach. My stomach literally turned as I smelled the greed, the ineptitude and Wall Street's (actually New York's) nasty fall from its perch atop the world's financial centers.

Wall Street is the ghost town of the old Wild West. It's been left behind, tarnished for years to come, probably forever. Very sad.
